Lowering the average European number of early school leavers

to below 10% by 2020 is one of the main educational objectives of the Europe 2020 strategy. Investing in the educational achievements of young people is crucial to the employment prospects of every young person, which is important not only from the point of view of the development of our economy, but also social cohesion. Investing in education helps break the cycle of deprivation and poverty that leads to the social exclusion of too many people across Europe.

The partnership of the LIKE project, based on the assigned roles and duties of its members, aims to experiment with territorial activities to improve the dynamics of contact between the school system and the student population (aged 6-10 years) in order to reduce the phenomenon of early school leaving. This goal will be achieved through the experimental introduction of the "life skills" training programs as an independent content based on a new element in education, the so-called "emotional dimension of the curriculum" and the establishment of a qualification model and continuous teacher training.

The LIKE project aims to plan and develop specific experimental activities to prevent and reduce the number of early school leavers through the implementation of workshops, evaluations and school activities focused on life skills.

What do we do for this?

- We are developing a manual that will serve as a compendium of knowledge and exercises to work with students aged 6-10 to develop life competences in this age group.

- In cooperation with 18 primary school teachers from Poland and other partner countries, we will pilot the handbook to evaluate the methods and techniques developed in the project.

- We will develop research questionnaires addressed to teachers and parents for the assessment and diagnosis of students' life competences.

- Based on the prepared questionnaires, research will be carried out in schools, thanks to which we will be able to assess the effectiveness of the activities carried out in the project.
